The Hotel Acacia books most of the WLS guests into the ground floor rooms. This is superb for accessing the swimming pool but the rooms tend to be quite dark and afford little privacy because you are at street level. If you can negotiate a first floor room then go for it ! That said, we were in room 009 and it was only a couple of doors away from the swimming pool which was very handy. The Acacia swimming pool is not very big, and is all one depth. It is accessed by one ladder which has only 3 rungs. If you are unable to raise your leg higher than your other knee then I would avoid going in, or you might get stuck ! The pool is not especially warm but I enjoyed the swims I had in it because I found it very refreshing. I had a swim on the morning of the operation while Ellen went for Breakfast and I really enjoyed it. I was relaxed in the water and it helped me clarify things for the day. The hotel is superbly located for accessing the market, the local shops and restaurants. They serve a lovely breakfast with all sorts of breads, bacon, eggs, ham, cheese, yoghurt, Fresh Orange Juice, Tea and Coffee, and even Champagne ! ( Didn't see the Champagne until I was post op and unable to have any ! Darn it !)
