There are many online communities for weight loss surgery patients. You can ask all the questions you have, and get a lot of answers from people who have been there, and done that. It's very important to gain a support network, especially in the first year because you are bound to have niggling questions - and this community is free and there to help you get the answers quickly and accurately.
These communities are also there to celebrate with you every single milestone. There is no greater feeling than getting the first compliment when you start to lose weight, and these folk know exactly how it feels and collectively cheer with you when you post how wonderful you feel. They also gather round you and offer support and comfort if you have a bad day too.

I have found so many friends on these sites, and gained strength and knowledge from these wonderful people. There are also local support group meetings available which are brilliant to go to.

I encourage you to join UK based support sites and make friends. Even if you are shy and don't fancy posting on the forum, you can go to the galleries and spend hours looking at all the inspirational before and after photo's.

Facebook has a support group called wljourney.com and Gastric Bypass UK which are great. WLSinfo.org is also excellent but try not to be swayed by the advertising that is on the site. It is now a free membership but the knock on effect for this is the funds come from the ads.
